Dropbox was founded in 2007 and pioneered a simpler way to keep files in sync. Today, the company designs products that keep teams in sync by reducing busywork and helping them stay focused on work that matters.
With more than 700 million registered users across 180 countries, Dropbox became exposed to a number of online attacks, including misuse of the brand name on phishing websites, third-party counterfeit offerings becoming available across marketplaces and social media and a surge of unauthorized sellers that were distributing counterfeit products resulting in reputational harm.
Dropbox seeked a robust and effective solution and employed BrandShield to achieve this. BrandShield constructed a comprehensive plan to protect Dropbox and assigned its expert team and advanced technology to scan for brand-infringing content and provided automation of 80% of monitoring and takedown activity.
