Scammers use Al Roker’s image in a recent deepfake video
Al Roker was shocked to discover a deepfake video of himself promoting a fake hypertension cure—a condition he doesn’t have. The AI-generated video falsely claimed he’d suffered heart attacks, deceiving viewers and even alarming some of his friends’ families. After being alerted, Meta removed the post. Roker isn’t the only celebrity targeted—others like Taylor Swift, Oprah, and Tom Hanks have also been used in similar scams.
